Following this morning’s release of the 2010 Memsie Stakes final field and barriers, leading online bookmaker Ladbrokes.com.au have opened their betting markets on this feature Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival event due to run at Rosehill on Saturday.
As expected, the John Wallace-trained Shoot Out is the pronounced favourite for the $200,000 Group 2 Memsie Stakes (1400m) paying $2.50 at Ladbrokes.com.au.
Benefiting from already having had two winning spring starts, Shoot Out is drawn in barrier six and looks hard to beat.
Following closely in the odds is Typhoon Tracy at $3 through Ladbrokes.com.au.
The Peter Moody-trained mare is also hot favourite to take out the Horse of the Year honours for last season and is resuming racing in the Memsie jumping from barrier 10.
Other favourites with the punters for Saturday are 2009 Cox Plate champion So You Think at $7.50 despite drawing wide with barrier 12 and dual Group 1 winner Whobegotyou hasn’t been forgotten, the Mark Kavanagh-trained gelding the only other starter at single figure odds paying $9 at Ladbrokes.com.au.
$2.50 Ladbrokes.com.au favourite Shoot Out looks hard to beat but Whobegotyou has drawn barrier one and could cause an upset at juicy $9 odds
Top chances to fill the placings at a good price through Ladbrokes.com.au are 2010 Melbourne Cup hopefuls Zabrasive and Faint Perfume, both at $4.20 to Place and are drawn well in barriers five and seven respectively.
