Spring Stars Target 2010 Memsie Stakes

August 9th, 2010

Caulfield Racecourse will come alive on Saturday August 28 when the esteemed track hosts a bumper race meeting as part of the early action of the 2010 Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival.

Two top group races are scheduled for the day including the headline event, the Group 2 Memsie Stakes.

Worth a tidy $200,000 in prizemoney, the Memsie Stakes is a 1400m gallop run under weight-for-age conditions.

The other group race feature due to run at Caulfield on Memsie Stakes Day is the Group 3 HDF McNeil Stakes (1200m).

The 2010 Memsie Stakes is shaping up as a top weight-for-age showdown with horses the quality of Cox Plate champion So You Think, the John O’Shea-trained Zabrasive heading towards the Melbourne Cup and The Handsome One all being considered for the race.

Nominations for the 2010 Memsie Stakes close on August 23 at midday and will be followed by the final field of acceptances on August 26.
